Itmann
Itmann was opened in 1918 by the mighty pocohontas fuel company. It was named after the president of the company, Issac T Mann. The itmann mine was closed in 1928, then reopened 20 years later, during the late 1950's and 1960's. It was the most productive mine in West Virginia. In the 1980's the Islan creek coal company was mining in Pocohontas No. 3 and employing around 500 miners. The mines are closed now. The building in on the national registery.
