Bemberg factory tn
Bemberg factory in tn constructed in 1920's. The factory made rayon a synthetic tyoe of silk. It was mainly used for parachutes, at the time the factory opened in 1926. By 1928 it employeed 2500 locals. In 1929 a violent strike broke out resulting in several deaths. In 1932 a fire and explosion killed more then 100 people. When reconstruction began construction workers that worked late into the evening claimed they would hear the phatom screams. It was closed in the 1970's, then the building was condemened in the late 1980's. Since then the building has become a place for the homeless to stay. In 1998 a homeless woman know to the locals as Martha fell to her death from upstairs window. The police were not sure if she was pushed her commited suicide. It was ruled a suicide. People have claimed to see her fall on occasion.
